FD City Council to meet Monday

The Fort Dodge City Council will address a variety of issues Monday evening.

The council session will begin at 5 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 819 First Ave. S., with a series of workshop discussions. Issues to be covered include corridor landscaping, efforts to combat the insect pest called the emerald ash borer and the need to reduce chlorides being released from the wastewater treatment plant.

At 6 p.m. the council will convene as the city’s Board of Health to consider the status of a house at 827 Sixth Ave. N. that was once filled with trash.

The council’s regular business meeting will follow the Board of Health session. At that time, the council will act on the agreement in which the city will loan AML Riverside LLC, the new owner of the Riverside plant, $100,000.

The elected officials will also consider hiring Snyder & Associates, of Ankeny, to create a revitalization plan for the city’s northwest side.
