Free radon test kits nearly gone in FD
The Webster County Health Department is on track to be out of free radon test kits by this morning.
“We will have a limited amount of free ones tomorrow morning,” Brandi Alexander, environmental health services, said Thursday. “I will not be surprised if they are gone by 10 in the morning.”
Kits will still be offered at the department for $5 apiece after the free ones are gone, Alexander said.
A test kit is the only way to determine if the colorless, odorless, deadly gas is seeping into a home. Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer behind smoking.
Visit the department at 723 First Ave. S. for a kit, or call 573-4107 for more information.
