To accommodate the large attendance anticipated at the funeral services for Fort Dodge firefighter Tom Peart, the city of Fort Dodge Public Works Department is making the following temporary parking restrictions and road closures.

– From 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesday, Central Avenue will be closed from 15th Street to 17th Street to all vehicles not participating in the funeral services. North 16th Street will also be closed at the intersection of Central Avenue.

– From 8 a.m. until noon Wednesday, no parking will be permitted on Second Avenue South from 12th Street to 15th Street.

– From 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesday, the two southbound lanes of North 15th Street will closed from 20th Avenue North to approximately the 1800 North block or adjacent to Corpus Christie Cemetery. All traffic will be diverted to the two northbound lanes.

Motorists are urged to reduce speed and use caution in the areas. Please use alternate routes if possible.
