Two vehicles destroyed in FD fire
Two cars were destroyed and a garage damaged in an early Friday morning fire at 1417 Seventh Ave. N.
According to Fort Dodge Fire Department Fire Marshall Doug Ostbloom, a Ford minivan belonging to Malinda Mericle had a fire break out in the engine compartment, which spread to the interior.
Heat from the burning van heavily damaged a Ford Expedition belonging to Shirley Lanus that was parked next to it.
He said the fire also damaged the exterior of the garage. Both vehicles were considered a total loss. The garage sustained about $3,000 in damages.
Fire units were on the scene from about 1 a.m. until 2:15 a.m. There were no injuries.
