Fort Dodge firefighters load a patient into an ambulance Thursday morning after a Ford Edge crashed into the back of a Freightliner tractor trailer truck in the 1400 block of Fifth Avenue South. The driver of the car was taken to UnityPoint Health - Trinity Regional Medical Center. The crash happened at about 9:30 a.m. Both westbound lanes of Fifth Avenue South were closed for a couple of blocks. The Fort Dodge police and fire departments responded. The crash remained under investigation by Fort Dodge police.
