Man stabbed multiple times at FD motel

Injuries ‘non-life-threatening’

A 34-year-old man sustained several stab wounds during an altercation with another man at a Fort Dodge hotel on Monday night.

According to a press release from Fort Dodge Police Department Capt. Dennis Quinn, the man was injured in an altercation at the Quality Inn, 2001 U.S. Highway 169, before he was taken to the emergency room at UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center by private vehicle. Law enforcement was sent to the ER shortly after 11:30 p.m.

After learning of the hotel altercation, officers were dispatched to the Quality Inn, where they located the other party involved, processed the scene and took statements. The release did not say if the other party involved was taken into custody or charged.

According to the release, officers with the FDPD Patrol Division are continuing to follow up with the incident, which they believe was targeted and isolated and not a random act of violence. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact FDPD at 515-573-2323.
