Fort Dodge man injured after jumping out of car

DUNCOMBE — A Fort Dodge man was taken by helicopter to a Des Moines area hospital after sustaining serious injuries from a fall out of a moving vehicle Sunday evening.

According to Webster County Sheriff Luke Fleener, Taylor Johnson, of Pocahontas, was driving along the 2600 block of Union Avenue near Duncombe when she and the passenger, Chase Trenary, of Fort Dodge, began a verbal argument. Trenary allegedly began to threaten to jump out of the moving vehicle, and Johnson started to decrease her speed. The vehicle was going between 30 and 40 miles per hour when Trenary jumped out.

The incident happened at approximately 8:20 p.m. Sunday.

Trenary was airlifted to a hospital in Des Moines, the sheriff said.

The WCSO was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, Duncombe Fire Department and Fort Dodge Fire Department.
