Frontier Days events kick off today and last through Sunday afternoon
The saw dust will be flying when a chainsaw artist gets to work this evening at the Fort Museum and Frontier Village. And some soldiers in 1800s vintage uniforms just might go marching into the stockade.
The appearance of artisans and the Ghost Garrison can mean but one thing: Frontier Days are here.
The annual celebration in Fort Dodge begins today at 4 p.m. and continues through Sunday.
With the exception of the parade down Central Avenue, all events will be at the Fort Museum and Frontier Village on Kenyon Road.
Admission at the Fort Museum will be $6 per person or $22 for a family of four.
The parade will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday and will progress down Central Avenue from 15th Street to the City Square. There are more than 100 entries in the parade. John and Margo Daniel, the owners of Daniel Pharmacy in Fort Dodge, are the parade grand marshals.
