Otho to host Market at the Park on Sunday

Events to continue through summer, early fall

OTHO — Visitors to Otho can find a variety of things at the Otho City Park this weekend. There will be fresh-baked treats, homemade jams, homegrown produce, farm fresh eggs and more.

The inaugural Market at the Park will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Sponsored by the Otho Betterment Committee, the Market at the Park events will be the first and third Sundays of the month from June through October.

“We were having a meeting and we just thought it would be a good idea to bring something into town on the weekends,” said committee President Missy Ewing.

For Sunday’s event, Ewing is expecting at least 16 local vendors, offering an array of products.

Stella’s Coffee Bar, Mama Dee’s Food Truck, WOW donuts and Pliners Kettle Corn will have fresh food and drinks available.

There will also be vendors selling farm fresh eggs, homemade jams and breads, crafts, Pampered Chef, Tastefully Simple and more. Local gardeners will also be at the market selling locally grown produce.

Ewing said she’s looking forward to seeing Sunday’s turnout.

“We’ve done small vendor shows during the Fourth of July, but nothing like this,” Ewing said.

Market at the Park will continue through the summer and early fall. However, it will not happen the first weekends of July or September, in honor of the weekend holidays.
