Business owners and people trying to start businesses will have a unique opportunity to pitch their products and services next weekend

And one business owner will win $1,000 in the Spark Your Business Contest.

The IGNITE Vendor Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Opera House at the Fort Museum and Frontier Village.

During the fair, businesses will have booths set up to show off their products.

Organizers say the fair will be a good chance for businesses to showcase themselves,. It will also be a good chance for area residents to see what local businesses have to offer.

The Spark Your Business Pitch Contest will be held at 2 p.m. in the Opera House. Entrepreneurs will be able to make their case to a panel of judges, which will decide who will get the $1,000 to further develop their business.

Refreshments will be available. The Opera House is offering a $6 meal.

The vendor fair will be the last event of the IGNITE entrepreneurship series hosted by Main Street Fort Dodge and the Fort Dodge Small Business Task Force.

Main Street Fort Dodge received a $2,000 Main Street America US Bank grant to pay for it.
