A man who escaped from the Fort Dodge Residential Facility on Wednesday has been located in Story County.

The Story County Sheriff’s Office said it responded to reports of a man “acting strange” near Highway 69 and 170th Street near Gilbert on Thursday. When authorities arrived they were informed that the man’s description matched Keagan Wayne Williams, 24, who had escaped the Fort Dodge Residential Facility.

When deputies attempted to contact Williams before he fled to a nearby cornfield. Law enforcement agencies searched the area on the ground and in the air.

The Story County Sheriff’s Office reported that Williams was apprehended without injury. Authorities said there is no threat to the community.
