Fort Dodge firefighter/paramedics tend to an injured driver after he crashed his truck along U.S. Highway 169 Friday night. The crash was reported at 7:07 p.m. Joshua Wilson was driving his truck northbound when he experienced a medical episode, according to Sgt. Zach Stanley, of the Fort Dodge Police Department. Witnesses reported that Wilson crashed into two utility poles before the truck came to rest in the east ditch near Avenue G. The first pole that was hit was a MidAmerican Energy Co. pole. The bottom of it was completely sheered off and was only being held up by wires. As a result, both lanes of traffic on the highway were closed off to semitrailer trucks for a significant amount of time. Wilson suffered non-life-threatening injuries. He was treated at the scene before being picked up by a private vehicle. Wilson was cited for driving while suspended. The Fort Dodge Police Department, Webster County sheriff’s deputies, Fort Dodge Fire Rescue and MidAmerican Energy Co. responded.
