New Webster County 4-H Fair royalty was crowned on Wednesday evening.

Morgan Farnham, 18, was crowned Webster County Fair Queen and Pierce Woodruff, 17, was crowned King. Both are members of the Gowrie Groundbreakers 4-H Club.

“It feels really awesome, especially because I’ve been in 4-H for nine years and it’s just a really great accomplishment to be able to represent Webster County and 4-H in general,” Farnham said.

Woodruff also said being crowned fair royalty felt like a great accomplishment and experience.

The king and queen candidates are judged on personality, leadership and communication skills. Prior to the coronation on Wednesday, each candidate was asked two questions to answer on stage. They previously had interviews with the judges on Monday as well.

Woodruff has been in 4-H since he was in fourth grade and he likes that the organization gives him opportunities to make new friends and make new connections.

She added that she also likes that she gets to meet other 4-H’ers from around the state and around the country.

During the 2021 Webster County Fair, Farnham is showing exhibits in the auditorium, including food and nutrition, photography, citizenship and food and nutrition educational display. Woodruff will be showing pigs during the fair.
