Head-on collision injures two

Humboldt man arrested for OWI

LEHIGH — A Humboldt man is facing an OWI charge after a head-on collision injured two people Thursday night south of Lehigh, according to Webster County Sheriff Luke Fleener.

The crash was reported at 7:50 p.m. at the intersection of Samson Avenue and 310th Street.

Tony D. Henderson Jr., 34, of Humboldt, was driving a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado southbound on Samson Avenue.

As he went around a curve in the road, his vehicle crossed the center line and struck a 2016 Ford Edge head on, Fleener reported.

The Ford was driven by Jeremy Rodmaker, 41, of Iowa Falls.

Two people from the Rodmaker vehicle were transported from the scene by ambulance to a hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

Henderson is charged with operating while intoxicated, third offense; failure to yield and open container, according to Fleener.

The crash remains under investigation.

Webster County sheriff’s deputies, Dayton Rescue Squad, Lehigh Fire Department and an ambulance from the Fort Dodge Fire Department responded.
