Shevelia to perform in Triton Jazz Festival

Shevelia will be the headline act of the Thursday night concert of the 2021 Triton Jazz Festival

Though high school bands will not be able to perform on the Decker Auditorium stage this year, Iowa Central Community College is offering them all a virtual option to gain an educational experience through the Triton Jazz Festival. Bands this year will be submitting their performance recordings virtually to receive clinician feedback. Just as important is exposing students to musical groups in the jazz genre. The Iowa Central Community College Triton Jazz Festival will sponsor a live virtual performance of Shevelia at 7 p.m. on Thursday. The performance will be available to view without ticket purchase via YouTube and Facebook.

Shevelia is an alternative jazz ensemble made up of three Des Moines area musicians. Shevelia primarily performs original music along with a few arrangements of their favorite jazz standards. Shevelia is most at home pushing the envelope of non-traditional jazz/fusion/electronic music.
