Public health confirms 19 new COVID cases in Webster Co.

Nineteen new COVID-19 cases were confirmed by Webster County Public Health over the last weekend. This brings the county’s cumulative total to 823 cases.

Of that total, 469 cases have been confirmed in communities. Of those patients, 380 have met the requirements for recovery and have been released from isolation. Another 89 cases remain active.

At the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility, 354 cases have been confirmed. Of them, 323 have recovered and have been released from isolation requirements.

The age breakdown of all Webster County cases is as follows:

• Children (up to age 17): 38.

• Adults (18-40): 417.

• Middle aged adults (41 to 60): 252.

• Older adults (61 to 80): 100.

• Elderly (Over age 81): 16.

Webster County Public Health continues to see positive cases from close contact gatherings and families. Residents are reminded to refrain from being in close contact with someone you are not typically around.

If you are not sure of others’ exposure risk, wear a mask. If social distancing isn’t possible, wear a mask.

If you are not feeling well, stay at home. Do not go to work or out into the public if you are sick. Stay at home if you are sick, if you’re awaiting COVID-19 test results or have been exposed to a positive COVID-19 case.
