Police investigate shots fired Tuesday

Officers are investigating an incident early Tuesday morning in which multiple shots were fired in the 2800 block of 10th Avenue North.

The Webster County Telecommunications Center received multiple calls for the shots at about 2:50 a.m. Information provided indicated that about four to seven shots had been fired while people fled the area.

Officers arriving on the scene found a 34-year-old man who indicated he was involved in a physical altercation with several other people. As he left following the fight, police said another person started firing shots in his direction, before fleeing.

Officers have spoken with witnesses and those believed to have direct knowledge of the incident as the Criminal Investigations Division continues to follow up on leads.
