Juli Springer is the school nurse at Cooper. Her husband, Steve, is battling stage four esophageal cancer. “The family is very special to us,” Thrams said. “They are such a great couple and so well thought of in all the Fort Dodge schools.” Staff from the school is also planning to deliver meals twice a week to the family. “Juli doesn’t have time to cook and that gives them more time with Steve,” Thrams said. The sunshine basket included a wide assortment of snacks and candy. Thrams said the first-grade team came up with the sunshine basket. “We hope it will bring a smile.”
