Two Fort Dodge residents arrested in Nebraska

Two Fort Dodge residents were arrested recently near Gothenburg, Nebraska, in Dawson County.

According to Dawson County Sheriff Ken Moody, Kristine Rose, 36, and Jeremy Buckingham, 34, were arrested after a deputy spotted their pulled-over vehicle on a rural road south of Gothenburg.

Buckingham was arrested on a nationwide warrant from Iowa for failure to register as a sex offender, Moody said. Rose was arrested after the deputy discovered about five pounds of methamphetamine in a backpack in the vehicle, he said.

The pair are expected to make their initial appearance in Dawson County District Court this week, where both will face charges on the drug case. Buckingham will be transported back to Iowa.

Both remain in the Dawson County Jail.
