Fort Dodge police believe 17-year-old Daiqualis Poe was killed accidentally by a family member, the department reported Thursday.

Police said they do not suspect foul play.

On Sept. 10, police were dispatched to a report of a shooting at 721 N. Eighth St. at about 12:45 p.m.

Poe’s body was found in the house with a single gunshot wound.

The Fort Dodge Police Department extends its deepest condolences to Poe’s family and friends.
