A Fort Dodge man accused of robbing the New Star Mini Mart has been ordered held on bond.

Dakota J. Remme, 19, had his bond set at $40,000 cash-only during his initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court Tuesday.

He is charged with first-degree robbery, trafficking in a stolen weapon used in a crime, and going armed with intent.

Additionally, Magistrate William Habhab appointed attorney Judd Parker, of Adel, to represent Remme during the court proceedings.

Remme allegedly robbed the New Star Mini Mart, 1923 Fifth Ave. S., around 1 a.m. Monday.

According to the Fort Dodge Police Department, Remme showed a weapon and took an undisclosed amount of money from the store.

Nobody was hurt.

The suspect fled the store and began running west.

“Fort Dodge police did a thorough search for the suspect in the surrounding area, but were unable to locate him,” Capt. Ryan Gruenberg, of the Fort Dodge Police Department said.

The suspect was described as a white male wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans, and a mask to cover his face. He was described as having a larger build.

Remme was arrested Monday afternoon.

The Fort Dodge Police Department’s criminal investigations division is continuing to follow up on the case.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Fort Dodge Police Department at 573-1426 or Webster County Crime Stoppers at 573-1444.
