What is important to you?

Family and friends and community are the most important things to me.

What do you like about Fort Dodge?

It’s a nice place to raise a family. Living in a historic home. My children have had opportunities to participate in many different kinds of activities. I’m currently a member of the Blanden Board, Heart Ball committee, May Day Luncheon committee and a member of the Philanthropic Educational Organization. Past member of the United Way Board, St. Paul Lutheran School Board, Study Club, Junior Women’s Club and the Public School Foundation Board.

What are you building for the future?

I’m working hard on creating a comfortable and welcoming environment for people to gather and enjoy fellowship as well as promoting and supporting local artists and musicians. Owning the coffee shop has given me the opportunity to meet people that I would not have had the opportunity to do otherwise.

What are you working hardest on?

Educating the public about the joy of coffee. We’ve been in business eight years, but there are still people who don’t know about us. We strive to get to know our customers by name and learn what their favorite drinks are. In many ways, our customers have become our extended family. I have a young staff; I enjoy mentoring them. They have become part of my family.
