DCI descends on Goldfield
Neighbors heard shots fired Tuesday afternoon
GOLDFIELD — Officials are investigating an incident in which shots were fired in Goldfield Tuesday afternoon.
Wright County Sheriff Jason Schluttenhofer said a neighbor heard gunshots coming from a home located at 722 Pine St.
The neighbors reported the incident at 3:50 p.m. and an active investigation remained in progress as of 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.
The Wright County Sheriff’s Department, Eagle Grove Police Department, Iowa State Patrol and Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation were on scene.
An Eagle Grove ambulance was on standby, Eagle Grove Police Chief Ray Beltran reported.
Crime scene tape was wrapped around a red SUV in the front of the house and stretched around the home and into a back alley.
The DCI is handling the remainder of the investigation.
