VINCENT — Authorities are looking for the man who went into the Vincent City Hall Tuesday afternoon and locked a woman into a back room before leaving with an undisclosed, limited amount of money.

The Webster County Sheriff’s Department released a surveillance photo of the suspect on Wednesday.

The suspect is described as an African American young adult with long dreadlocks. Witnesses described him as being about 6 feet tall.

In the surveillance photo, the man is wearing a light blue long-sleeved shirt and a dark blue hat.

The robbery was reported at 4:27 p.m. Tuesday. It happened about an hour before that time, according to the Webster County Sheriff’s Department.

Nobody was hurt, and no weapons were used in the incident, the Sheriff’s Department reported.

According to officials, the suspect was outside for a period of time before going into the building. He may have been driving a small older car.

The brick building that houses Vincent’s city hall is a former bank with the word BANK still inscribed in concrete over the door.

The Webster County Sheriff’s Department is continuing to investigate.

A $500 reward leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect is being offered by Webster County Crime Stoppers.
