Junquefest in Webster City

WEBSTER CITY — Downtown Webster City will close its main street to traffic and open it to Junquefest FRIDAY, SATURDAY and SUNDAY. Tons of vendors, food and, well, junque.

Dayton Old Engine Day

DAYTON — Dayton Old Engine Day is SATURDAY from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be citywide garage sales, a library book sale, and kids tractor pull for ages 4 to 11.

Crown Victoria rally

FORT DODGE — The Ford Crown Victoria Association Rally is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. SATURDAY at the Fort Museum, One Museum Road. About 40 Crown Victorias dating from 1954 to 1956 will be on display. Admission is free.

Sertoma Pork Chop Dinner

FORT DODGE — Fort Dodge Noon Sertoma Pork Chop Dinner is 4 to 7 p.m. MONDAY at Veterans Memorial Park, 1386 National Ave. Tickets are $15 per person. There will be a limited quantity of carryouts available. Proceeds go to support the charitable programs and activities of the Fort Dodge Noon Sertoma Club. The dinner will be held rain or shine.

WHITTEMORE — St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Whittemore, is hosting its fifth annual 5K Run/Walk SATURDAY. Registration begins at 8 a.m. outside the parish center with the event starting at 9 a.m. The event is open to people of all ages and is in conjuction with Whittemore Fun Days. Funds raised will go toward widening the sidewalks leading to St. Michael’s parish center and other operational needs.

DAYTON — Dayton Public Library is hosting author visits TODAY and SATURDAY at the library. Lori Golden Meyer and Beth (Bohlke) Golden, authors of the children’s picture book, “Bob’s ABC Adventures,” will read and talk about their book at 4 p.m. TODAY. Joseph LeValley, author of “Burying the Lede,” will read and talk about his book at 11 a.m. SATURDAY. Refreshments will be served.

FORT DODGE — Blanden Memorial Art Museum is holding Pottery & Pints at Shiny Top Brewing, 520 Central Ave., from 2 to 4 p.m. SATURDAY. The class is for students 13 years and older. Class size is limited to 15. Cost is $20 per person. All materials are provided. Register by stopping by or calling the Blanden at 573-2316.

FORT DODGE — The Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles will hold a Garage Sale from 1 to 5 p.m. TODAY and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. SATURDAY at 1018 First Ave. N. Proceeds go to the charities of the organization and to the building maintenance fund.
