FDCSD renews with Taher for food service
Taher will continue to provide its food services for the Fort Dodge Community School District.
The FDCSD board approved a contract with Taher at its meeting Monday night.
“The state requires districts that employ a food service management company to do a full competitive bid every five years,” said Brandon Hansel, FDCSD director of financial services. “We just concluded our five-year contract with Taher and completed our bid process.”
He said Taher submitted the lone proposal.
The projecting operating budget for food service for the 2019-20 school year includes a grand total revenue of $2,557,285.16 and total expenses of $2,423,333.87.
“We are very pleased with Taher,” Hansel said. “In fact we have a lot to be proud of with our food service program — not only the way it performs financially, but the quality and variety of food we serve kids every day.”
