The principal of Feelhaver Elementary School will leave the district at the end of the school year to be closer with family, the Fort Dodge Community School District announced on Wednesday.

Nancy Cross will resign her position effective June 30.

According to Jennifer Lane, FDCSD director of communications and community relations, Cross plans to move closer to family members who she will help care for.

“The families, faculty and staff at Feelhaver Elementary are second to none,” Cross said. “However my parents, who live in eastern Iowa, need my support. It has been a wonderful experience working at Feelhaver. The students will continue to be my priority throughout the remainder of the school year.”

Cross served the Fort Dodge Community School District for six years.

Lane said the district plans to have the Feelhaver principal position filled for the start of the 2019-20 school year.
