Another round of winter

Slippery snow led to a collision southeast of Fort Dodge at the corner of Quail Avenue and 220th Street Monday evening. The driver of the Buick Enclave was taken to the hospital, but her injuries did not appear to be serious, according to Iowa State Trooper Niel Moranez. Moranez said a blue semi truck was coming north when it turned left onto 220th Street near the Gypsum City Off Highway Vehicle Park, right in front of the GMC Acadia, at right. The Acadia braked and steered to avoid, he said, and the Buick hit the back right corner. It was a daughter following her mother, Moranez said. The occupants of the Acadia weren’t hurt. No information was available Monday evening about the driver of the semi. Vincent Fire, and Fort Dodge Fire Rescue also responded.
