Humboldt County culvert work continues

HUMBOLDT — A series of culvert replacements are moving forward in Humboldt County.

The Humboldt County Supervisors approved the “first of many” payments to Rogness Brothers at their regular meeting Monday, County Engineer Ben Loots said.

The first payment was for $119,921.59.

The first culvert replacement is complete, north of Hardy on Humboldt County Road B66, Loots said.

“Rogness Brothers has three projects with us,” he said. “They have moved on to south of Thor right now.”

Once they’re done there, they’ll begin work on a project on Humboldt County Road P29 north of Clare.

This is routine replacement of old structures, Loots said.

Also routine was a approval of the fiscal year 2019 Iowa Department of Transportation secondary road budget amendment.

That’s to pay for both this project, and for some equipment which was approved earlier but didn’t arrive until this fiscal year, Loots said.
