Forbes resigns from emergency post

‘I have had the great privilege to serve my county’

Webster County Emergency Management Coordinator Scott Forbes is resigning to take a job in the private sector.

Forbes announced his resignation, which will be effective Oct. 26, on Thursday.

“I have had the great privilege to serve my county as the emergency management coordinator,” he said in a written statement. “During my time I’ve had the good fortune to get to know and work alongside many great people that share my passion and pride for our communities and county.”

Forbes became the Webster County emergency management coordinator on May 4, 2015. Prior to that, he held the same post in Hamilton County for six months. He was a Fort Dodge firefighter from 1999 to 2012.

He said his new job is safety-related.

“I am grateful to be able to use the knowledge and experience that I have gained in the public side in my future endeavors,” he said.
