Applebee’s robbery suspect arrested

Cletio Clark, of Fort Dodge, is accused in Sept. 30 incident

A suspect in the late September robbery of a local restaurant has been arrested.

Cletio R. Clark, 28, of Fort Dodge, is facing one count of first-degree robbery, a class B felony.

He’s accused of robbing the Fort Dodge Applebee’s, 2810 Fifth Ave. S., early in the morning on Sept. 30.

Fort Dodge Police Capt. Ryan Gruenberg said the robbery was reported at 1:49 a.m.

Employees told officers that a man had walked in with a handgun and demanded money. After taking an undisclosed amount of cash, he fled the restaurant, heading south.

Officers arrested Clark on Thursday, according to a signed warrant attached to the criminal complaint, filed with the Webster County attorney’s office.

Clark appeared in front of Magistrate William Thatcher in Webster County Magistrate Court Thursday morning.

Thatcher ordered Clark held in the Webster County Jail on $25,000 cash-only bond.

He also scheduled a preliminary hearing for Nov. 2.
