Jurors viewed a surveillance video that showed Shane Wessels getting shot during the first-degree murder trial of Levi Gibbs III in Webster County District Court Wednesday.

Stills from the video were also shown to the jury.

Gibbs is accused of shooting and killing Wessels on Sept. 3, 2017. He has pleaded not guilty.

Before lunch, jurors heard testimony from Amy Johnson, a criminalist with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation. Johnson took photos and collected evidence at the scene.

Johnson’s cross-examination will begin after lunch.
