FORT DODGE — Youth Empowerment Association, Inc., formerly It Gets Better FD & Beyond, is holding A Not So Scary Halloween Costume 5K Run/Walk SATURDAY at Kennedy Park. Registration begins at 3:30 p.m. with the run/walk beginning at 4 p.m. Cost is $20 for adults and free for children 10 and under. Food will be available. Online registration can be done through the association’s Facebook page. Funds go to the Dr. Miller Scholarship.
FORT DODGE — Community Health Center of Fort Dodge Third annual Masquerade for Your Health Ball is SATURDAY at Shimkat Motor Co., 3126 Fifth Ave. S. The event starts at 6 p.m. with dinner served at 7 p.m. The theme is Groovy 70’s. There will be live and silent auctions, raffle, DJ and dancing. Advance tickets are $45 person and $50 per person at the door. Tickets may be purchased by calling 576-6500.
FORT DODGE — Fort Dodge Fire Rescue First annual Red Line Run is 9 a.m. SUNDAY at Kennedy Park. Registration fee is $30 which includes a T-shirt. Lunch will follow the run. All proceeds go to Children Cancer Foundation.
FORT DODGE — Blanden Memorial Art Museum, 920 Third Ave. S., is holding Prairie Landscape Quilting from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. TODAY. The class is for participants 16 years and older. Class size is limited to 20. Create a whole cloth quilt using freehand quilting. Topics covered include creating a landscape quilt using whole cloth and free motion quilting. Students will need to bring a sewing machine, bobbins for machine, fabric pins, darting foot or free motion embroidery foot. Students must know how to use their sewing machine and bring hand painted fabrics and thread colors that coordinate with the fabric. Cost is $35 for members and $45 for non-members.
FORT DODGE — Blanden Memorial Art Museum, 920 Third Ave. S., is holding First Free Saturday Family Artmaking from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. SATURDAY. On a come and go basis, family groups of adults and children together are welcome to visit the Blanden where an area will be set up for social and creative fun. There will be freewill donations accepted to purchase a gift card for a local food bank.
FORT DODGE — The Disciples of Truth Holy Ghost Revival is 6:30 p.m. TODAY, 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. SATURDAY and 1:30 p.m. SUNDAY at AFES Gymnasium, 712 Third St. NW. This non-denominational revival will feature speakers Evangelist Brandon Mocas, Rev. Dennis Krog and Rev. Loren Miller. Everyone is welcome to attend.
FORT DODGE — Blanden Memorial Art Museum, 920 Third Ave. S., is holding an opening reception for artist Chad Heggen from 3 to 5 p.m. SUNDAY. Heggen will give an artist lecture at 4 p.m. Refreshments and light hors d’oeuvres will be provided.
FORT DODGE — Fort Dodge Senior High Marching Band and area bands will compete in the State Marching Band Festival SATURDAY at Dodger Stadium. Gates open at 8 a.m.

FORT DODGE — Webster County Republican Kenny and Jane Rasch Chili Bash is 5 to 7:30 p.m. SUNDAY at Fort Frenzy, 3232 First Ave. S. The menu will be chili, crackers, corn muffins, condiments, drinks and cinnamon rolls. An auction will also be held. A freewill offering will be accepted. There will be a cash bar. Many Republican elected officials and candidates will be in attendance.
