Algona hosts band day

Sixteen bands participate in Saturday parade

-Messenger photo by Emilie Nelson-Jenson The Scarlet Regiment Marching Band of Algona High School closed out the 69th Annual Algona Band Day Parade with a selection from their 2017 show titled “Scarlet Jazz.”

 The 69th Annual Algona Band Day was held Saturday in Algona. Sixteen bands participated in the afternoon parade on State Street with a dozen bands competing in the evening field show. Results are as follows.

Parade

Class 1A Middle School

– West Hancock Middle School, first place
