Head-on collision leaves pair of off-road riders seriously injured

The two men who were injured Saturday afternoon when they collided head on while riding an ATV and a dirt bike have been transported to an Iowa City hospital, according to Josh Van Waes, Webster County sheriff’s deputy.

Dennis Brown, 34, of Gilmore City, and Sonny Dreesman, 27, of Fort Dodge, both suffered facial fractures as a result of the crash, Van Waes said.

According to Van Waes, their injuries, although serious, are believed to be non-life-threatening.

Brown was driving the ATV. Dreesman was driving the dirt bike.

Brown and Dreesman collided at 1627 220th Street, west of Fort Dodge Saturday.

Neither rider was wearing a helmet.

According Van Waes, the accident occurred on private property when the riders were going around a building on the property in opposite directions and then collided head on.

They were initially transported to UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge.
