Farm News Ag Show winners announced

Rich Arndorfer, of Bancroft, was the winner of the Kubota two-piece, 19-drawer toolbox that is valued at more than $2,400.

Arndorfer, a corn and soybean farmer, said the new toolbox will be a welcomed addition to his farm.

“It’s a nice toolbox — it will work well,” he said. “I am running out of space and they get wore out when you’re opening the drawers all of the time – this will be a nice improvement.”

Arndorfer visited the 17th annual Farm News Ag Show on opening day where he not only visited exhibitors but also listened in on the afternoon’s speaker, Diann Andrews, estate and succession planning specialist from NextStage Legacy Advisors.

“I enjoyed listening to the speaker and it’s always an interesting show,” he said. “I have been down every year for a couple of years now.”

Hog raffle

Winners of the two-half hog raffle were John Jennett, of Ames, and MaryAnn Hawthorne, of Pocahontas.

The pig was provided by the Webster County Pork Producers and Lohrville Locker donated the processing. Proceeds from the raffle went to the Iowa Central Community College agriculture department scholarship fund.
