Whitcome, who had been a volunteer at the Lord’s Cupboard for more than three years at the time, says that at this time of year they have an abundance of food. “Through the holidays, people bring in a lot of food,“ she said. Whitcome added that schools, churches and many different organizations do food drives at this time of year to help out.
