50 Years ago: July 21, 1969

NEWS: Science teachers Gilbert Copper, of St. Edmond, and Harland Narem, from South Junior High, participated in a five-week earth science program at the Philmont Scout and Explorer Base in Cimarron, New Mexico.

SPORTS: Tom Chapman Sr. won the club championship at the Fort Dodge Country Club with a 36-hole total of 140, two under par.
