NEWS: The Blanden Memorial Art Museum was raising funds through “National Lost Penny Day,” when people were encouraged to donate Lincolns – pennies and $5 bills, as well as anything between or beyond those amounts.

SPORTS: Pocahontas Area won the Twin Lakes Conference wrestling tournament 41-22.

NEWS: Lawrence Minnehan, of Churdan, received the Outstanding Young Farmer Award from the Jefferson Junior Chamber of Commerce.

SPORTS: Linda Knox, of Estherville, was in the lead with a 589 series in the first weekend of the 33rd annual state women’s bowling tournament.
