FDSH students selected to North Central Iowa Bandmasters Honor Band

Sixteen Fort Dodge Senior High students were selected for the 2018 North Central Iowa Bandmasters Honor Band.

The Honor Band performs Saturday, Jan. 5, at Iowa Central Community College’s Decker Auditorium at 5 p.m.

Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for students.

“Participating in an honor band provides valuable learning experiences for students as they have the chance to play challenging music,” said Al Paulson, FDSH band director. “They improve their skill at honor band which helps improve our bands overall. It’s an honor for these students to be recognized for the time and effort they put into their music.”

Students representing Fort Dodge Senior High are:

Ninth and 10th grade Honor Band:

Reagan Black — clarinet

Allison Jordison — clarinet

Claire Asay — clarinet

Nathan Rethwisch — alto saxophone

Josh Meier — trumpet

Rylie Reed — French horn

Matthias Hippen — trombone

Isabel Gruver — euphonium

11th and 12th grade Honor Band:

Kaydence Messerly — flute

Kayla Smith — clarinet

Jordan Martin — clarinet

Kirsten Wendel — French horn

Nehemiah Hippen — trombone

Jamie Lennon — trombone

Johnathan Madden — euphonium

Austin Andrews — tuba
