FDSH students rewarded at FCCLA conference

Fort Dodge Senior High students recently participated in the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America State Leadership Conference in Des Moines.

Twelve students presented Students Taking Action with Recognition projects. STAR projects are competitive events where members are recognized for proficiency and achievement in chapter and individual projects, leadership skills and career preparation.

FDSH results were as follows:

• Alaysha Ross and Ellie McClintock received gold medals and qualified for Nationals.

• Natalie Martinson, Hanna Marks and Taylor Hartley received silver medals.

• McKaelyn Anderson, Mckenzie Kofoot and McKenna Bishop received silver medals.

• Bryor McCuddin and Cassidy Wolff received silver medals.

• Kayla Smith received a silver medal.

• Taylor Willer received a silver medal.

McCuddin and Wolff received an award for completion of Step 1.

“I’m very proud of all of our students,” said Julie Schreiber, FCCLA advisor. “They worked really hard on their projects and their efforts paid off with their awards.”
