FDSH recognizes 126 students for academic achievement

Fort Dodge Senior High held an Academic Letter Award Ceremony on Sept. 14 to recognize students for outstanding academic achievement.

The program recognizes students who have earned a 3.5 or higher grade-point average for three consecutive semesters.

The first time students achieve this accomplishment they receive the Academic Letter, and each additional time they achieve a 3.5 grade-point average for three consecutive semesters they receive a bar to put on their letters.

FDSH honored 67 students with their Academic Letter at this event. In addition, 39 students earned their first bar and 20 additional students earned their second bar.

“We are proud and excited to be able to celebrate academic achievement this way,” said Kenneth Hayes, FDSH principal. “It’s a huge accomplishment to maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA in high school, and I’m honored to recognize these deserving students for their academic efforts.”
