Community Christian to be fully accredited
Community Christian School received a recommendation to be fully accredited by Christian Schools International on April 27.
The accreditation includes the elementary and middle school.
The accreditation status was granted following a three-day evaluation by a team of five members.
The five members included an administrator, teachers, and curriculum director from various Iowa schools, along with consultants from the Iowa Department of Education and the AEA.
The visiting educators interviewed parents, teachers, students, board members and others. In addition, the team reviewed board policies, curriculum documents, financial status, and student achievement data.
CCS was commended on its family centered environment, student achievement, integrated Christian education, safe and inviting facility, and commitment of volunteer support to the mission of the school.
Recommendations are to study and report alumni accomplishment and create vision for long-term stability.
Community Christian School has always been a licensed and accredited school with the State of Iowa. Now CCS will receive accreditation through Christian Schools International along with the State of Iowa Licensure. CCS will create a five-year school improvement plan based on recommendations from the visiting team.
