FDCSD, St. Edmond partner for food drive

In the spirit of Rachel’s Challenge, the Fort Dodge Community School District and St. Edmond Catholic Schools are partnering to help restock the shelves at local food pantries.

Donations of non-perishable food items and hygiene products can be dropped off at any FDCSD building or St. Edmond through March 5.

Sponsors ask that people check expiration dates before donating food items. The items collected will be given to local food pantries.

“This time of year the food pantries normally see a drop in donations, but the need does not decrease,” said Jen Cordle, FDCSD elementary teacher and organizer of the food drive. “The food drive is a small act of kindness we can show for others in our community that will have a large impact.”

Questions may be directed to Jennifer Lane, FDCSD director of communications and community relations, at 574-5668.
