The Brookstone Inn & Suites has announced Joe Jordison as their new general manager.

Jordison is a Fort Dodge native. He graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1979.

Jordison moved to Des Moines to study accounting at the American Institute of Business. While there, he took a job as an auditor at Adventureland.

Meanwhile, he continued his studies at Iowa State University. Later, he worked at the original Holiday Inn in Fort Dodge in 1984.

Jordison was eventually hired by Ackerman Investments of Fort Dodge, where he served as a traveling hotel manager at properties in Des Moines, Ankeny, Waterloo, Iowa City, Newton and Ames. He eventually stayed on as the permanent general manager of the Quality Inn Starlite Conference Center in Ames. He worked there for 10 years.

The Quality Inn in Ames was sold in July 2020.

“I’m really excited to be back here,” Jordison said. “I have a lot of family still here so I will get to see them more often, and it’s exciting to see all of the new growth and development in Fort Dodge. I think it goes hand in hand with our hospitality industry.”

Jordison said he is excited about running the newest hotel in Fort Dodge. He is anxious for local residents to come and experience it for themselves.

“I hope that everyone and their families will come and check us out, enjoy a Staycation, and see what its like to enjoy a night’s stay at such a quality property,” he said.
