Cornbelt Chorus Presents Wayback Barbershop Friday and Saturday

ALGONA — Enjoy the madness and music of time travel as the Cornbelt Chorus presents its spring show Wayback Barbershop on Friday in Emmetsburg and Saturday in Algona. The Friday show is at 7 p.m. in the Emmetsburg High School Auditorium. Saturday’s shows are at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the Wilcox Performing Arts Center in Algona.

BoomTown is this year’s guest quartet. Tenor Zane Sutton, lead singer Caleb Fouse, baritone Aaron Walker, and bass Shaun Whisler have been performing together since 2012. The group is changing the stereotypes of barbershop harmony and introducing a new style. Inspired by artists such as Michael Buble and The Jackson Five, BoomTown puts its own spin on swing standards, pop classics, and even some country and gospel favorites.

The Cornbelt Chorus’ Classic Act will also take to the stage. Classic Act carries the distinction of senior status. They love singing together and, most of all, love to entertain. Bill Crook sings lead, Don Biddle sings tenor, Steve King sings baritone, and Wayne Miner is the bass.

Adult tickets are $10; kids in high school and younger will be admitted free. The ticket is also good for admission to the After Glow party at the Locker Room in downtown Algona following Saturday night’s performance.

Tickets are available at Hy-Vee and Brown’s Shoe Fit in Algona, and the Crown Salon in Emmetsburg. Tickets can also be purchased online at www.cornbeltchorus.com or from any Cornbelt Chorus member.
