KYL children’s department December events scheduled

WEBSTER CITY — Kendall Young Library children’s department will be having a variety of events in December.

Weekly Programs

LEGO Build (children’s department) — Each Monday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. throughout December, there is the opportunity for kids to test their building skills. We have a variety of LEGOs and would love to see your creations. Bring a friend and get building.

Tales Around the Town — Kendall Young Library along with local Webster City businesses will be taking storytime on the road. Each week families are invited to meet at a designated location, hear a story and experience the host location. December is full of excitement as we visit new places. No registration required. Just follow the signs for the fun.

Dec. 1: Kendall Young Library, 1201 Willson Ave., 5:30 p.m.

Dec. 8: Grama’s Diner, 725 Second St., 5:30 p.m.

Dec. 15: Kendall Young Library, 1201 Willson Ave., 5:30 p.m.

Wild Things (TK-2nd) will meet on Tuesdays from 3:45 to 5 p.m. in December. This time will offer a variety of stories and activities each week. Join us for all the adventures.

Fuzzy Ducklings (under 3 years) will meet on Wednesday mornings from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in December. This parent/child experience is fun for everyone.

Hungry Caterpillars (3/4 year preschool) will meet on Thursday mornings from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in December. This is a fun and interactive story time.

Tween’s Time (3rd — 5th grade) will meet on Thursdays from 3:45 to 5 p.m. in December. They will explore crafts, STEM, cooking and so much more.

Friday Cookies, Scoops, & Books — Drop in at the children’s department on Fridays, Dec. 5, 12 and 19, between 3:30 to 5 p.m. for an afternoon snack as you pick up some books for the weekend. This is a come-and-go event.

Drop-In Saturdays — Kids and families are invited to “Drop-In” to enjoy a time to get creative. Each Saturday in the children’s department there will be a come-and-go activity available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Dec. 6: Cookie Decorating, 10 a.m. to noon only

Dec. 13: Yarn Wrapped Christmas Ornaments

Dec. 20: Paper Strip Christmas Trees

Dec. 27: Spiral Melting Snowmen

*During the Winter Break from Dec. 22 through Jan. 5), regular weekly programs are not scheduled unless noted, but a variety of on-your-own activities will be available throughout the library.
