Beef Quality Assurance Certification to be held in Lytton

LYTTON Iowa State University Extension and Outreach in Calhoun County will host a Beef Quality Assurance Certification training from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday at Albright Farms, 2384 Durant Ave., Lytton. BQA is a national program that raises consumer confidence through offering proper management techniques and a commitment to quality within every segment of the beef industry.

This program is designed for beef producers and/or agri-business professionals who need to get or renew their Beef Quality Assurance certification. At the feedlot, presenters will discuss carcass quality, feedlot management, processing and new health products, feedlot design and controlling E. coli.

The Calhoun County Cattlemen will offer a light lunch following the program for a small fee.
