Clarion schedules a citywide cleanup

The Clarion Pride Committee will hold a citywide cleanup days from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Clarion Depot, 302 S. Main St. You must show your Clarion address driver’s license to drop off items.

The Clarion Pride Committee of the Clarion Chamber is working hard to help improve the look of the city neighborhoods. Phase One emphasis is on Central Ave. “We will be painting and improving several homes on this key artery to the city,” said Committee Chair Peggy O’Neill. “We wanted to start there and go on to R38 or old County K. This is what people see first when they come into the city.”

Items that will be accepted free are: appliances, car batteries, electric motors, vacuums, microwaves, metal, junk cars (with title), mattresses and furniture.

There is a small fee to dispose of monitors, TV’s and tires.

Yard waste should be taken to the city brush pile southwest of town.

If there is a question regarding what can and will be taken please call MT Shearing & Recycling at (641) 853-2207 or the chamber at (515) 532-2256.
