SAC CITY – FreeCycle on Friday and Saturday will give Sac City residents an opportunity to recycle and find recycled treasures.

FreeCycle donations will be accepted on Friday at the Chautauqua Building from 1 to 7 p.m. Donations of clean, useable goods are welcome.

Notices about working appliances and televisions can be posted on a bulletin board for those who are interested. All clothing must be clean and adult clothing must be on hangers. No garbage bags of adult clothing will be accepted. There will be hangers available for people who need them.

Bedding, towels, furniture items, children’s clothing and toys have been especially well received in past years. Receipts can be given for those wishing to claim a charitable donation on their tax returns.

On Saturday, the doors of will open at 8 a.m. for shoppers to select items they need from the donations. All items are free to the recipient, though, donations of cash will be accepted to pay the rent of the building.

Shoppers must claim the items they want and take them out immediately or have someone stay with the bigger items.
